Let’s be honest, faith sounds easy until life punches you in the mouth.
I’ve walked through some dark seasons. Real dark. Depression and evil didn’t knock on my door, it kicked it in. There was a night when I hit rock bottom so hard I wasn’t sure I was going to get back up. And I questioned everything I once preached. My purpose. My prayers. Even if God was listening.
But here’s what I found out in that valley: faith isn’t a feeling, it’s a decision.
And unwavering faith? That’s forged when you have every reason to quit, but you choose to trust anyway.
Hebrews 10:23
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.”
It doesn’t say, “hold on when it feels good.”
It says, “unswervingly.” No detours. No backpedaling. No letting go.
Let me tell you something, You don’t build real faith on the mountaintop.
You build it in the fight.
In the silence.
In the seasons when prayers feel like they bounce off the ceiling.
That’s where faith grows roots.
So don’t tell me how strong your faith is, show me.
When the bills are due.
When the relationship falls apart.
When the healing doesn’t come right away.
When the shame of your past creeps back in.
That’s your proving ground.
Questions to wrestle with today:
What storm did you barely survive and what did it reveal about your faith?
Where have you been trusting feelings more than God’s faithfulness?
What would “unwavering” look like in your life right now?
Remember:
What held you does not hold you.
What broke you does not define you.
And the God who carried you this far is not done.
Let’s build unshakable faith. One step. One prayer. One hard choice at a time.
Now go prove it.
