STOP BEING THE STRANGER IN YOUR OWN HOUSE
Listen. This one’s for the men who say, “I’d die for my family,” but won’t even sit still long enough to listen to them.
You show up at work. You show up at church. But when it comes to the living room? You vanish into your phone. Into silence. Into excuses.
You know what your wife hates? Feeling like she’s married to a ghost. You know what your kids need? A dad who knows their world, not just their rules.
TODAY’S TRUTH:
Being physically present means nothing if you’re emotionally absent.
Your people don’t need another lecture. They need your eyes. They need your ears. They need your full attention for more than five minutes at a time.
🔥 ACTION STEPS — DO THESE LIKE A MAN WHO’S DONE MAKING EXCUSES:
1. LOCK EYES, NOT SCREENS.
Put the phone down. Walk up to your wife and ask: “What’s one thing I’m missing that you need from me?” Brace yourself. Don’t defend. Don’t explain. Just take it in.
✅ ACCOUNTABILITY CHECK: Ask her tomorrow, “Did you feel seen last night?”
2. SIT YOUR KID DOWN — ONE ON ONE.
Tonight. Not next week. You pick the time. You make it happen. Ask: “What’s something you wish I asked you more about?”
✅ ACCOUNTABILITY CHECK: Write down what they say. Bring it up again this weekend. Prove you were listening.
3. STAND ALONE WITH GOD. Step outside. Stand in the dark if you have to. Look up and say: “God, what have I been too busy to face in my home?”
✅ ACCOUNTABILITY CHECK: Tell a brother in Christ what God shows you. Text him. Say, “Hold me to this.”
💣 You want to be a leader? Then lead. Not with your fists. With your presence. With your consistency.
If you can’t lead your home, you’ve got no business trying to lead anything else.
NO MORE NAILS.
No more hiding in plain sight.
Be the man who earns their trust, one conversation at a time.
