“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”
1 Peter 4:10
CALL IT WHAT IT IS:
You were not saved to sit.
You were not called to be comfortable.
You were not built to be passive.
You were made for mission.
You were made to serve.
And when the church calls, you answer.
But I didn’t.
MY CONFESSION:
I was asked to serve.
Straight up.
No guessing.
No hoping someone would see my value.
They asked me…
and I said no.
Not because I didn’t want to.
Not because I wasn’t ready.
But because I let others convince me not to.
They said,
“You need more time with us.”
“You’ve already done your time.”
“Someone else will step up.”
“You’re too busy right now.”
And I listened.
I let other people’s voices drown out God’s voice.
And I missed it.
That was not their failure.
That was mine.
I ignored the call.
I disobeyed the prompt.
And I robbed someone else of what I was supposed to give.
YOU HAVE A GIFT. USE IT.
God gave you strength for a reason.
He gave you time, tools, wisdom, grit, and a story.
That story includes scars.
Those scars have purpose.
You were not saved just to sit in a chair.
You were saved to go to work.
🔹 The nursery needs men who care.
🔹 The youth need men who listen.
🔹 The doors need men who smile.
🔹 The parking lot needs men who protect.
🔹 The altar needs men who pray with power.
The church needs you.
Not next year.
Not once it’s convenient.
Now.
3 HARD QUESTIONS:
🔷 Have you ever said no to God because someone else talked you out of it?
🔷 What excuse are you still hiding behind?
🔷 If God asked you again today, what would you say?
WHAT TO DO NEXT:
🔷 Own your “no” and be ready to give a “yes.”
🔷 Ask your pastor where you are needed.
🔷 Show up early. Stay late. Lead well.
🔷 Do not wait to feel ready. Obedience makes you ready.
NO MORE NAILS.
No more being talked out of your calling.
No more asking for confirmation when God already made it clear.
No more sitting when you were told to stand.
