T̳h̳a̳n̳k̳ ̳y̳o̳u̳ ̳f̳o̳r̳ ̳t̳h̳i̳s̳!̳!̳!̳

Yesterday I was working on today’s reflection. I watched Satchmo through the window; I saw him playing all alone. Tossing his toys, flipping and flopping like he does. He didn’t know I was watching. That reminded me of something. I was all set to write a reflection about “When No One Is Watching”. What we have all heard many times. Although it is appoicable and we should remind each other often. That idea changed this morning. This is my revised reflection.

𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, I was reminded that there was a promise unkept. I felt horrible. I knew I let this person down. I gave a commitment and I let being busy interfere. Now that I was called out for this, I began to move right then. I hesitated once. I will not this time. It was late. I started asking questions, listening, and then asking more questions. Decisions were made. A simple plan was put in place.
What didn’t seem like a big deal to me at the time was big to someone else. That’s the part that stuck. I speak often about 𝒃𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒔 in need. And here I was, the one who had dropped the ball. But even though I didn’t show up when I was called, I did show up when I was humbled. God was moving in this two-hour conversation that turned out to be more of a session.
How did God show up? I couldn’t sleep, therefore I was available. I was humbled, therefore, I was willing to take action right then. My mind was free of the day’s activities, therefore I was not distracted.
Here’s the part that still has me in awe. At the conclusion of our conversation, I was asked for my Cash App ID. You know the rest now, and you’re right. I was sent $125.00 to cover the cost for a man to take my Total Fitness class. You know how hard that hit me, don’t you? You can imagine the emotions I felt in that moment. I didn’t expect that to happen. I didn’t even know how to put it into words at first. Here’s my best attempt right now: Simple words that rested on my mind as I lay in bed with a smile. I was given a seconds chance to help.

“𝙄 𝙙𝒊𝙙𝒏’𝒕 𝒔𝙝𝒐𝙬 𝙪𝒑, 𝙗𝒖𝙩 𝙩𝒉𝙚𝒏 𝑰 𝒅𝙞𝒅.”

And now, another person will have the opportunity to learn something new.
𝙂𝒐𝙙 𝙞𝒔 𝒈𝙤𝒐𝙙. That’s how I started my morning.
Those three words:
𝙂𝒐𝙙 𝙞𝒔 𝒈𝙤𝒐𝙙.
